Over 100 artists participated in our premiere juried art exhibit!
The show featured footwear inspired artwork by Rochester regional artists and some participants from out of state. Paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, glass, furniture, and jewelry were among the art mediums.
Shoe themed artwork will always be an ongoing exhibit at the Shoe Factory

"Hearts and Daggers: A Rochester Love Story"

55 Rochester artists participated in this juried Valentine show which featured
love inspired artwork! Paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media,
fiber arts, glass, furniture, and jewelry were among the art mediums.
"A Lynn Tate Retrospective"
March 4th - 26th 2011
We introduced Lynn Tate to the Rochester art scene in her first solo show!
Having moved to Rochester from Connecticut, Lynn uncrated 39 original
oil paintings for a ten year, traditional still life retrospective.
"Hawks and Doves: Perspectives on America and the World in Conflict"
April 1st - 30th 2011
Conflict was the topic of this juried art show which coincided with April marking the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War.
The Military History Society of Rochester, located in the same building, had a companion event on opening night exhibiting Civil War artifacts.
Over 30 artists from Rochester and a few from out of state created paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, glass, and jewelry for this exhibit.
"Colleen Virdi: Left of the Dial"
May 6th - 28th 2011
Rochester artist Colleen Virdi's colorful and whimsical acrylic paintings
depicting her own social and political commentary were featured in her first solo show! A portion of painting sales went to Colleen's favorite local charity, HUGS Foundation, whose medical team travels to developing countries to provide surgery for children in need with physical deformities.

54 Rochester area artists welcomed and embraced the summer
season with creative expressions of flora and fauna in this juried exhibit!
A garden-variety of art mediums were on display including paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, metalwork, and fiber arts. Also featured were unique art pieces such as handcrafted outdoor furniture, distinctive birdbaths, and decorative totems.
"6 by 6 FEET: Extra Large Art"
August 12th - 31st 2011
25 artists rose to the challenge of creating artwork measuring 6’ by 6’, or
with one six foot dimension. Some artists created work even larger than 6 feet. The exhibit featured paintings and wall hangings.
"Exposed! The Nude Self"
September 9th - 30th 2011
30 artists interpreted their own nudity, literally and nonliterally, in this
revealing exhibit. Painting, photography, sculpture, fiber arts, and metalwork were on display.
"October Sunset: The Paintings of Nancy Jo Gambacurta"
October 7th - 29th 2011
A solo show for Shoe Factory House Artist Nancy Jo Gambacurta! Vibrant landscape paintings were featured inspired by her travels to the American West and the Adirondacks! Also on display were Nancy Jo's Garden paintings, Bathing Beauties, and African Violet series!
"Once Upon a Coffee Table: Fine Art Furnishings"
November 4th - 26th 2011
From fine to funky! Showcasing 23 of Rochester’s finest furniture makers and artisans of home decor! This show featured hand crafted tables and other functional creations made with a scintillating variety of hardwoods, veneers, inlays, metalwork, glass, and paint finishes. Also on display were artistic handmade lamps and unique wall pieces.

A holiday art show for shoppers sick of malls and box stores. On display were handmade, original fine arts and fine crafts by 29 Rochester artists!

Starring Shoe Factory members Phil Bliss, Rina Miriam Drescher,
Stephanie Cusenz Green, Susan Jenkins, Scott Lamont, Doug Steward,
Colleen Virdi, and Mollie Wolf! These eight local artists did a live painting demonstration! Visitors were able to wander through the gallery and
observe the painters at work as each artist created an acrylic painting
or two! Patrons bid on original artwork through silent auction!
All proceeds went to The Shoe Factory Art Co-op!
