Over 100 artists participated in our premiere juried art exhibit! The show featured footwear inspired artwork by Rochester regional artists and participants from out of state. Paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, glass, furniture, and jewelry were among the art mediums.

"A Lynn Tate Retrospective" March 4th - 26th, 2011
We introduced Lynn Tate to the Rochester art scene in her first solo show!
Having moved to Rochester from Connecticut, Lynn uncrated 39 original
oil paintings for a ten year, traditional still life retrospective.
"Hawks and Doves: Perspectives on America and the World in Conflict" April 1st - 30th, 2011
Conflict was the topic of this juried art show which coincided with April marking the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. Over 30 artists created paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, glass, and jewelry for this exhibit. The Military History Society of Rochester, located in the same building, had a companion event on opening night exhibiting Civil War artifacts.
"Colleen Virdi: Left of the Dial" May 6th - 28th, 2011
Rochester artist Colleen Virdi's colorful and whimsical acrylic paintings
depicting her own social and political commentary were featured in her first solo show! A portion of painting sales went to Colleen's favorite local charity, HUGS Foundation, whose medical team travels to developing countries to provide surgery for children in need with physical deformities.

54 Rochester area artists welcomed and embraced the summer
season with creative expressions of flora and fauna in this juried exhibit!
A garden-variety of art mediums were on display including paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, metalwork, and fiber arts. Also featured were unique art pieces such as handcrafted outdoor furniture, distinctive birdbaths, and decorative totems.
"6 by 6 FEET: Extra Large Art" August 12th - 31st, 2011
25 artists rose to the challenge of creating artwork measuring 6’ by 6’, or
with one six foot dimension. Some artists created work even larger than 6 feet. The exhibit featured paintings and wall hangings.
"Exposed! The Nude Self" September 9th - 30th, 2011
30 artists interpreted their own nudity, literally and nonliterally, in this
revealing exhibit. Painting, photography, sculpture, fiber arts, and metalwork were on display.
"October Sunset: The Paintings of Nancy Jo Gambacurta"

A solo show for Shoe Factory House Artist Nancy Jo Gambacurta! Vibrant landscape paintings were featured inspired by her travels to the American West and the Adirondacks! Also on display were Nancy Jo's Garden paintings, Bathing Beauties, and African Violet series!
"Once Upon a Coffee Table: Fine Art Furnishings"

From fine to funky! Showcasing 23 of Rochester’s finest furniture makers and artisans of home decor! This show featured hand crafted tables and other functional creations made with a scintillating variety of hardwoods, veneers, inlays, metalwork, glass, and paint finishes. Also on display were artistic handmade lamps and unique wall pieces.

Eight local artists did a live painting demonstration! Visitors were able to wander through the gallery and observe the painters at work as each artist created an acrylic painting or two! Patrons were able to bid on artwork through silent auction. Starring Shoe Factory members Phil Bliss, Rina Miriam Drescher, Stephanie Cusenz Green, Susan Jenkins, Scott Lamont, Doug Steward, Colleen Virdi, and Mollie Wolf!
"Unconditional Love: Cats and Dogs" February 3rd-25th, 2012
An official World Spay Day event ! 48 artists celebrated February's Valentine’s Day and Spay Day with an art exhibit honoring our feline and canine best friends! On display were drawings, paintings, photography, sculpture, glasswork, mixed media, and metalwork depicting cats and dogs, as well as unique items such as handcrafted, organic dog biscuits. Some artwork was bid on through silent auction. Silent auction funds and kind donations of cat food, dog food, and dollars will be given given to a local "No Kill" animal shelter.

The Shoe Factory Art Co-op hosted a tasty art show at nearby Starry Nites Café. The exhibit whet the appetite of café patrons by displaying artistic depictions of baked goods by 15 imaginative artists. These delectable artworks of subjects such as cakes, muffins, donuts, and pies were in the form of paintings, photography, mixed media, fiber art, and glass.

Rochester artist Lisa Johnson’s Beachcomber Designs jewelry show. On display were her handcrafted necklaces, bolos, earrings, bracelets, and rings made with simple found objects such as pebbles & weathered beach glass enhanced with silver, and her intricately woven beadwork jewelry.
"Mona Oates & Wen-Hua Chen" May 3rd-May 29th, 2013
A farewell art show for floral painter Wen-Hua Chen before returning to her homeland in Taiwan. Surrealist Mona Oates unveiled three new oil paintings in a series called Fleeting Stages and gave an artist talk in the gallery on Second Saturday.

Inspired by the historic geometric designs painted on the barns of Pennsylvania Dutch farmland, Rochester artist Beth Brown created a series of colorful hand painted stars on canvas and wood. The Shoe Factory Art Co-op featured her art exhibit at Starry Nites Café.

The Shoe Factory presented photographer Bruce Bozman's tantalizing abstractions of the Caribbean and other nature scenes for a Starry Nites Café exhibit. Compositions featured glimmering light on ship's bows, sterns, and sails, and weathered boats reflecting water and sky in hot colors.

This Starry Nites Café exhibit hosted by The Shoe Factory featured acrylic paintings on canvas by Webster, NY artist Gail Cunliffe. A variety of color rich painting styles ran the gamut from abstract imagery created with a palette knife to carefully planned architectural retro designs.

13 artists created imagery inspired by standard playing cards. On display were art pieces in the form of digital art, mixed media, painting, photography, and sculpture.
